Space concerns prohibit us from saying its name more than once, so here it is, eccentric capitalization and all: 25hours Hotel tailored by Levi’s is, as you may have gathered, a collaboration between the German budget-boutique group 25hours and the American denim company. Let’s just be thankful they named it in English and not in German, so we still have space for a couple of facts.

Where the original, in Hamburg, is glossy and retro-Mod futuristic, this one, despite Frankfurt’s reputation as a buttoned-up businessman’s destination, has a weathered, funky vintage streak running through it. There’s some Fifties and Sixties modernism but also some graffiti-inspired prints, some battered cheap-chic furniture and some heavily worn leather.

Only the most adventurous of Frankfurt’s finance crowd will cross this 25hours’s threshold. This place, by virtue of its price point, is aimed squarely at the creative class. Which means don’t expect much in the way of traditional luxury — en-suite bathrooms are about all you can really ask for, and the flat-screen televisions and iPod-ready sound systems are above and beyond. There’s a “living room,” somewhere between a typical lobby lounge and a collaborative work space, which is probably perfect for this crowd, and the casual restaurant serves an eclectic menu from early morning until late night.

How to get there:

From Frankfurt airport one can take many suburban or fast trains to Frankfurt main station. Arrival aboveground: Leave main station through main entrance, cross square and tram platforms, turn left, then the second right into Karlsstraße. After 100m Karlsstraße crosses Niddastrasse. 25hours Hotel Frankfurt is in sight on the left hand side. Arrival underground: Watch out for exit “Karlsstraße”, then follow instructions above.

Arriving by car (from direction airport), follow B43 towards city centre (Zentrum) and main station (Bahnhof). After 10km keep left and change to B44, Kennedyallee. Cross river Main on Friedensbrücke. After 1km, on the left hand side, the main train station appears. Turn right into Karlstraße. After 100m Karlstraße crosses Niddastrasse. Turn left, 25hours Hotel Frankfurt is in sight.
