About Andaz London:
The Andaz London is a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of London adjacent to Liverpool Street Station. The Andaz's location puts The Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern and Spitalfields Market all within walking distance for guests of the hotel. 1901 Restaurant and Wine Bar serves classic British dishes Monday through Friday.
Tablet Hotels review:
The Andaz London is a rare beast, a hip hotel right on top of Liverpool Station — one of just a handful of lodgings in the Square Mile, bucking the trend that generally sees City boys and girls (and their guests) flee for parts westward as soon as the closing bell rings. And despite its railway-hotel heritage, it’s had quite an upgrade, its interiors proof that modern design plays as well with bankers as it does with designers.
None of this is readily apparent from the outside — the red brick facade hasn’t changed much since 1868, but what lies behind it will blow your mind. The hotel’s axis has been swivelled, and there’s a new lobby, new floors, and galleries filled with bamboo plants and light. Many of the original Victorian details have been preserved — fireplaces the size of closets, intricate plaster moldings on the ceilings, and staircases wide enough to accommodate the largest of Victorian steamer trunks. But the center is the pièce de resistance, an atrium that resembles a cross between a miniature Guggenheim spiral ramp and an ice cream cone.
In contrast to the wow of the building, the rooms are practical, just what you’d expect from a businesslike City hotel. Better than the Eames chairs and Jacobsen lamps are the desks that double as dressing tables, and have a space for your hair dryer. Wi-fi and local calls are included in the rate, as is everything in the minibar aside from the booze, which is a policy we'd like to see in more hotels. The rooms on the top floors are, contrary to expectation, the smallest. They’re cute, but if a penthouse was what you were expecting, you should be warned. Having said that, the service is some of the nicest you’ll get in this town, efficient and attitude-free, and aesthetically, the Andaz is unparalleled in London.

Fantastic location and public areas.
What the hotel could do better
My room was noisy - not just street noise (though it didn't overlook the street???) but the plumbing sounded like people were slamming doors in the other rooms!

Great location, wonderful old building, very well run, nice beds towels, toiletries. Great service. For London, this staff is exceptional. They let us check in at 11 am. Bonus: Grenson shoe store in the building!
What the hotel could do better
NO SAFE IN THE ROOM! So inconvienent. The style is bit dated and the whole place is a bit dark. It is hard to put a pin in it, but when I arrived back at the Zetter for the second part of my stay I felt like I was home. It just seems sterile and corporate at times. But, then it is a chain hotel.

Generally a very beautiful and stylish hotel, spacious rooms, lots of nice touches like a complimentary non-alcoholic minibar. Good location for East London.
What the hotel could do better
The lobby hand-held computer check in was a fiasco! I had booked 2 rooms with a company credit card, but for some reason this proved to be a major drama in covering both the card holders room (the company owner) and myself. She was asked to fill in various forms to cover my possible use of the cc - in the end it was quicker to give my personal cc, even though I was there for business. I have never experienced this before. I think the woman who checked us in may have been new, but we were in a rush to get to a meeting and it took 40mins to check in!

The suite, 550 sq meters, brilliant. Also, available for smoking. I loved it. I was supposed to be, booking, a room. For a trip, to Miami. I saw, pictures of Andaz Hotel on Tablet. While, in London. And, staying some place else. I had to stay there. On my last, nite abroad. I did.

I really like staying at the Andaz. The location is very good and the access to so much of London is right next door with the Tube and the Taxi rank.
The laundry service is first rate and they are very helpful. The front desk staff has improved over the past year and gotten far more customer centric.
The coffee bar is a pleasant respite and now with Marks & Spencer's Simply Food across the street, plus PRET and a nearby EAT, breakfast options abound as do mid day snack or lunch spots.
What the hotel could do better
The A/C and Heat is never working right.
The showers need to be realigned as the heads just spray and adjustment is needed.

atrium area visually impressive but......
What the hotel could do better
So fair play to innovation and making use of technological advances, but really not convinced by wandering staff with laptops instead of a clear front desk area. If Andaz want to create an impression of nimble efficiency they need more front of house staff to handle arrivals promptly, dressed in clear livery so guests can spot them. A lobby scrum is never going to make a good first impression. And the Andaz needs that because the rooms are nothing to get excited about. Far from chic and with a bathroom straight out of a suburban new build. plumbing needs some work, too - sounded like a nuclear device being detonated every time shower or toilet used. Good night's sleep? Not really...
