Andel, Czech for “angel,” is the name of the once-derelict industrial area, now repurposed as a residential and retail district, that the hotel calls home. The interiors, by Jestico + Whiles (responsible for London’s Hempel and One Aldwych) are bright, clean, predominantly white; really, the word “angelic” would not be wholly inappropriate.
The lower levels, housing reception, the bar, the restaurant, and the conference facilities, are mostly glass, making for fine city views, as well as a healthy dose of natural light. The lobby’s floors, as well as the reception desk, are pale limestone, and the white walls and translucent curtains add to the bright, spotless look.
Rooms themselves are incredibly clean, minimal in design, but packed with details like ISDN lines, satellite TV, and electrified laptop safes (for secure recharging). The bathrooms are sleek and modern, with a plentiful helping of stone and glass, and separate tub and shower.
The neighborhood offers a multiplex cinema (also by Jestico + Whiles) and a shopping center, and the Andel metro station affords easy access to the city center’s business and tourist destinations (5 minutes to Wenceslas square).
All in all, a fantastic modern design hotel, with impeccable service, near the heart of the Czech capital, and the legendary Prague nightlife. It is difficult to imagine what more a traveler could possibly demand.

What I liked:
Very centrally located hotel; comfortable rooms, well appointed washrooms; breakfast with many options; very courteous maitre'd at breakfast service; helpful front desk with public transport options
What the hotel could do better:
I had a very pleasant stay right after New Years, however 2 events stick out as areas for improvement. One of the mornings, housekeeping repeatedly entered when my partner and I were still in our rooms. They would knock but scarcely leave a second for us to answer that we were still inside. We tried to convey the time that we would be in the room until, however our language barrier made this difficult as we had another entrance shortly after. I understand we didn't hang a Do Not Disturb Sign initially, however if a courtesy knock is to be made, please wait to give a chance for a response. This happened on checkout day as well. Andel has a generous 1200 noon checkout time and I had intended to make the most of it to catch up on sleep. I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel where housekeeping comes to make up or tear down a room on checkout day prior to checkout.
Thank you for your attention

What the hotel could do better:
It's very corporatey. We didn't like. It was very average with some modern furniture! The gym was large but with creepy old equipment and creepy people from outside the hotel using facility.
