Calling these hyper-luxe cliffside residences “villas” is the sort of understatement that only the most confident hoteliers would attempt. Then again Àni Villas Boutique Resort has a lot to be confident about. There are just two villas, in truth, but each one is a five-bedroom modernist monument that sleeps up to twelve guests in exceedingly fine style.
This doesn’t just mean architectural style — though of course it means that too, in no small measure. It also means a full complement of staff, including a private chef and a butler/concierge, plus all the physical luxury you can handle: cliffside hot tubs, poolside drinks service, and beds and baths that are beyond reproach.
It feels remote, but it’d take a jaded traveler indeed to run out of leisure options here. One villa includes a game room, both share a tennis court, and hot tubs and swimming pools abound. Bikes are on hand for exploring the island, and the entertainment systems are more than adequate, including everything from Nintendo Wiis to unlimited movies via Apple TV.
It’s worth noting that most of the program is included in the nightly rate, from meals to house wine to car rentals and airport transfers. In fact it’s easier to list the exceptions, things like golf, tennis lessons, spa treatments, water sports and boat trips.
