For all Denmark’s design prowess, it’s not always the easiest thing to find a hotel that makes the most of this heritage — the high end particularly is crowded with hotels that are very much stuck in the 19th century. Not so with the Hotel Twentyseven; this place is not just Danish Modernist but truly modern, a design-savvy boutique hotel of the new school, and pretty much exactly what you’d expect a Copenhagen boutique hotel would look like.
This is a good thing. White walls, blonde wood and ultra-clean lines make so much more sense here than when they’re exported to somewhere like Bali or Mexico City — in a place where the sun is out for as few as seven hours a day, you’ve got to make the most of the available light. This is probably just pure survival instinct, and this logic is the opposite of what’s on display in the Absolut Icebar, a sort of drinkers’ version of the Polar Bear Club.
Those who prefer to drink in more humane temperatures retire to the Honey Ryder Cocktail Lounge, which is rather unaccountably named after the first-ever Bond girl. Here you can sip so-called “molecular” cocktails without need for parkas or mittens. And the Wine Room is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Except that it also serves breakfast, naturally. Youth-friendly, business-adequate, and as charming and smart-looking as you’d expect from this charming and smart-looking city.

What I liked:
The lobby lounge and buffet were nice
What the hotel could do better:
The rooms were tiny, there was no service, the bar was ridiculously loud, you can't even go into the ice bar as a guest without waiting in line and paying a ridiculously high fee. I would not stay there again.
