It’s nice, when you’re in the south of France, to stay in some quaint little farm house, or a family-owned boutique hotel. But there’s also something to be said for staying in a proper resort, one with executive suites, tennis courts, a golf club, a spa — just the kind of full-on high-end hospitality experience that’s on offer at the Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche.

Terre Blanche, as it happens, is just around the mountain from Cannes, and the Four Seasons looks out over the idyllic Provençal landscape from a hilltop. The pool deck has that cozy little villa feeling, but the suites and villas are legion, some 114 of them, distributed throughout the property, each one a miniature villa complete with tiled roofs.

In case you feel the need to ask, yes, they’re comfortable, and no, they’re not missing any of the modern conveniences — the tiled bathrooms come with deep soaking tubs, and every room’s got its own private bar. There’s a fairly extensive kids’ program, so you can get your alone time, and the leisure offerings outpace pretty much any competitor in Provence — not one but two golf courses, in addition to the spa, gym, the tennis courts and the restaurant, an upscale affair with an impressive view. It may lack a bit of intimacy, but if you can stomach the idea of sharing your upscale luxury resort with others, you’ll have very little indeed to complain about.

How to get there:

The Nice-Côte d'Azur International Airport is France's second largest airport and offers direct flights to many destinations in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dubai, Frankfurt, London, Manchester, Paris, Rome, Stockholm and Zurich, as well as to New York City.

Cannes-Mandelieu Airport is available for the exclusive use of private jets. Cannes is the closest port from the Resort for guests arriving by private yacht.

Please contact customerservice@tablethotels.com to arrange airport transfers.
