As they expand across Germany, one thing the 25hours group can’t be accused of is repeating themselves. The Hamburg version looks like it’s from space, and the other Frankfurt outpost is a partnership with Levi’s, and is decorated accordingly. This one, in Frankfurt’s east end, was created by a local nightclub impresario (whose name, it’s no coincidence, is Goldman) and boasts, among its themes, a different color scheme for each of its seven floors.

We could go on and on trying to sum up the design, and that’s what the pictures are for anyway. Suffice it to say that the rooms all contain references to various notable Frankfurters, and they’re all bold and fun, never too pretentious and never ever minimalist.

They’re not overly luxurious either, which is the point. As one of Europe’s great financial centers, Frankfurt hardly lacks for luxury hotels — what it tends to lack (along with most other cities, come to think of it) is something that’s stylish and at the same time affordable. That’s 25hours in a nutshell. High-flying finance types might find the décor a bit much, but they’ve got their own hotels — the Goldman 25hours starts somewhere south of the magic 100-euro mark, making it friendly for travelers without expense accounts.

How to get there:

Arriving by car: Take exit 14 (Frankfurt-Ost) on highway 661. Follow signs Zoo/Großmarkthalle/Stadtmitte towards city centre. After about 1km on Hanauer Landstrasse you recognize Goldman 25h by its eye-catching orange-blue facade on the right hand side.

Public transport: Take tramway 11 (directly in front of the main train station) towards Fechenheim/Schießbüttenstrasse and get off at Osthafenplatz (15 minutes drive). From the tram stop you walk 50 meters back and the colorful hotel facade is in the range of sight. Alternativly, one can take interurban trains to Ostendrasse and change there to tramway 11 (see above).
