Hotel Yasmin
Politických Veznu 12/913 Prague 1
Prague, Czech Republic
Style: Modern Design
Atmosphere: Happening

Prague has been one of Europe’s most talked-about destinations for some time now, but until lately, high-design boutique hotels have been a bit thin on the ground. Bit by bit, though, the city’s classic old buildings are getting a contemporary makeover — a case in point is the Hotel Yasmin, off Wenceslas square.
It’s perfectly located for business, and well-equipped too, but to the eye, it looks custom-made for leisure — the bright colors, floral prints, and surreally organic-looking sculptural elements are a cheery break from the picturesque Gothic romance of the old city. The public spaces are especially outré, full of retro-modernist furniture and strange ornamental illustrations, while the rooms are more restrained; stylish, still, a bit minimal, but in a glossy and slightly futuristic way, not a tired Zen-boutiquey way.
With almost two hundred rooms, it’s not small, and has facilities to match: a fairly extensive restaurant space, an outdoor garden terrace, plenty of meeting space, and even a sauna and fitness center. Meanwhile just outside is the old center of Prague, including the castle, the Charles bridge, and just about any attraction you could name — business travelers could do a lot worse, and tourists could hardly do any better.

Everything about this hotel was great from the super-cool design and entrance, to the styling rooms, to the restaurant. the location was also superb, as it was just walking distance to Old Town and all the shopping on offer. Plus a gourmet breakfast buffet is included in the price - what a deal! would highly recommend this hotel.
What the hotel could do better
Not all the staff were particularly friendly.

Modern and hip hotel. An interesting contrast to Prague. Rooms are contemporary and clean with comfortable beds (loved the pillows and comforters) and large bathrooms. Air conditioning was excellent. Staff were efficient and helpful with making dinner reservations, securing tours and answering questions. Breakfast was fantastic and was included in our rate. It was something we looked forward to every morning. Very close walking distance to old town area of Prague. Would stay at Hotel Yasmin again.

This hotel tries to make it work, and the staff were attentive, but the policies were not very flexible and they required check in at the front desk to be done via a reservation thru tablet instead of just saying you were booking thru tablet and wanted the tablet rate (which credit to tablet was about 30% lower than their walk in rate)
What the hotel could do better
rooms were not great and despite the promise of internet in the room, and two hours of technicians, - none was EVER available. a plus that internet is free there but what good is that when it doesn't work. wifi in the lobby fine - great breakfast, but can't make up for having to trudge to the lobby to do work. isolated, they said, but staff seemed to know this has happened before.

Everything. The lobby/concierge/dining area were all gorgeous and inviting. The room was spacious and very hip looking. I slept like a baby. The hotel is close to everything. The concierge staff were extremely helpful and very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was AMAZING. It rivaled Sunday Brunch at any leading hotel that I have tried. Needless to say I left breakfast stuffed and satisfied.
What the hotel could do better
I wouldn't call it a dislike, rather than a small inconvenience that will remain a cute story to tell. The elevators were being worked on and my friend and I got stuck in the elevator twice. But it was amusing afterwards, so it didn't effect my thoughts about the hotel at all. Our stay was fantastic.
