Much of the low-key glamor and exotic charm that made Acapulco the destination of choice for the beautiful people of the Fifties and Sixties has since been crowded out by a riot of speedy development. Today the seaside is alive with enormous megahotels and endless crowds. There are still a few pockets of the old Acapulco to be found, however — chief among them is Las Brisas, situated high on a hilltop overlooking Acapulco Bay, remote enough to provide a sense of exclusivity yet near enough to the action to avoid a sense of isolation.
That rarefied air is key to its charm, and Las Brisas is popular with honeymooners and other couples looking for a private and discreet escape, which in this case means leaving the kids behind. Its two-hundred-plus villas cover the hillside, with private pools between (almost one per room) and everything pink as far as the eye can see, from the interiors and exteriors of the casitas themselves to the jeeps that ferry guests about the property.
The rooms are handsome and well-appointed enough, but frankly they’re not the point — the point is the atmosphere, something most Acapulco hotels sorely lack. Facilities include not just the comical number of swimming pools, but a beach club as well, plus tennis, spa services and a pair of Mexican and international restaurants. As for nightlife, Acapulco’s main drag is close by — but if you’re like most Las Brisas guests, you’ll never see it.

What I liked:
Romantic, classic old-school, great setting. Get away from it all.
What the hotel could do better:
Hate it when great hotels charge you for internet, while it is free at McDonald's.

What I liked:
The setting of the hotel is spectacular - on the mountains overlooking Acapulco bay and the Pacific. The territory is huge - the hotel actually has cars available to get you from the reception to your house. Instead of a room you actually get something that more resembles a small private villa. We got an accommodation with private pool and facing the ocean. I suppose it is crucial to find the "right" house as some are more secluded and have better views than others. The hotel has its own private beach, La Conchitta, with excellent facilities. A shuttle bus takes you there and back in less than 10 minutes from the reception. We were very happy with our choice indeed. Tablet was right that the guests rarely want to leave the comfort of the hotel. What Tablet got wrong, though, is the hotel's children policy. From the looks of it half of the guests were families with children. Not much of a problem for those who want to have more of an "adult" setting - you still have complete privacy of your ocean facing villa.
What the hotel could do better:
The food and the service at the beach restaurant, La Conchitta, was disappointing and overpriced. That was a shame really considering its oceanfront location which presumes availability and abundance of sea food. The waiters at the restaurant trying hard to please but actually lacked some basic training that is expected from a restaurant in a luxury resort. I would also tend to agree with the other reviews about the relatively low quality of food available for room service. Still, minor complaints aside, we had a wonderful stay.
