The townhouse is divided into twelve mini-suites, each with its own individual kitchen and bathroom. Although the requisite wall-mounted flatscreen and cushioned headboard might remind you that yes, you are in a hotel, the cozy living-room ambience takes center stage. Given the fairly unassuming nature of the furniture and beige-and-cream palette, it might come as a surprise that the interior doubles as a showroom—in other words, if you fall in love with a particular sofa or pillowcase, feel free to buy it. If you’re willing to splurge for a bit more space, there’s a loft that represents the best of this sort of small-scale luxury. With exposed beams and a peaked ceiling that comes together above the bedroom, this is a picture-perfect couples’ hideaway.
Le Bourg 7 is a bit too modestly sized to have a dedicated restaurant, but there’s a wine bar that serves as the perfect segue from a day by the lake to a night on the town. If you happen to be staying for the weekend, be sure to make time for a leisurely early-afternoon brunch—the hotel serves up locally baked pastries, homemade jams, and (it goes without saying) müesli.
