Megève is unique among ski resort towns; this Haute Savoie getaway is not just a winter sports center, but one of France’s culinary hot spots as well. And Les Fermes de Marie is Megève’s most classic hotel, a collection of traditional farmhouses and chalets lovingly restored and converted into a truly grand luxury hotel. The style is rustic, the Alpine cabin-style rooms each fitted with a unique collection of Savoy antiques and modern conveniences like wireless internet and satellite television.
This is not the sort of place that caters to the sort of skiers who catch both the first and last lifts of the day; here there’s time to live the good life before and after hitting the slopes. You’d be foolish to skip breakfast, and the dinners are extraordinary — it’s no wonder many guests elect to miss out on the skiing entirely and spend the day back at the hotel. There’s a warm and cozy library, a charming and rustic bar, and a fitness center with an indoor pool. But the most decadent diversion is the Pure Altitude spa, perfect for an aprés-ski massage or an afternoon beauty treatment.
The hotel’s many restaurants are extraordinary — they have to be, or they wouldn’t survive. Megève is packed so densely with Michelin-starred establishments that you may find yourself skiing to work up an appetite, rather than the other way around.
Kids:
Guests over the age of 12 are considered adults. Some rooms accommodate 3 or more. The "Suite" room sleeps up to 5 guests. For crib/cot, must book "Club room" room or larger. For 2 adults + rollaway bed, must book "Coin salon room" or larger. For 2 adults + 2 kids beyond crib age, must book "Prestige room" room or larger. Connecting rooms available. Can be confirmed upon reservation.
Cribs are available for an additional fee of €25. Roll-away beds available for an additional fee of €80. No additional charges for kids beyond crib/roll-away.
Fenced in pool available that allows kids. Babysitting services provided by screened outside help at €15 per hour. Daycare services provided, kids between the ages of 4 and 12 can be dropped off on a fixed schedule. The restaurant is kid-friendly with high chairs and a kids menu. Room service offers a kids menu.
