With a name like Life Resort, clearly it’s intended to be a little bit more than just another night in a hotel. The setting is unmatched, just outside the south-central seaside town of Quy Nhon, a place that’s largely untouched by the tourist trade, mountains, sea, and ancient architecture notwithstanding. Here you’re unlikely to see many Western faces, something that can’t be said of many Southeast Asian holiday destinations, and frankly their loss is your gain — genuine escape in this world are increasingly hard to come by at anything less than luxury-class prices.

Here at Quy Nhon the dollar stretches quite a bit further. The Life Resort’s 63 rooms are spacious, and contemporary enough, all with basic comforts like air conditioning and satellite TV as well as uncommonly picturesque views from private balconies and bathroom windows.

The Life Resort’s surroundings lend themselves quite naturally to hiking and biking, and tours are available showcasing the Cham Dynasty ruins or the resort’s uninhabited private islands. A private beach sees its share of use, as does the wellness center, offering all manner of treatments from the most basic massage to the most arcane and obscure beauty procedures, while the restaurant serves fresh local seafood in Vietnamese and international styles.
