The unique headboards are especially striking, flat cushions that dangle from a golden drapery rod. And the charcoal-and-red bathrooms display a surprising level of ingenuity, considering they’re sleek tile-and-glass affairs.

What I liked:
The Madison offers stylish rooms and some with very lovely views. Our room looked out at the majestic Saint Germain Des Pres Church. The rooms are small but well-appointed. Most rooms in Paris will be on the smaller side. The breakfast was incredible. So many fresh items all prepared beautifully.
