Maison Moschino

Collaborations between hoteliers and fashion houses are becoming more and more common, and perhaps nowhere do they feel quite so natural as in Milan, couture capital and hospitality hotbed. It’s here, in a disused 19th-century rail station, that you’ll find the Maison Moschino, as representative an example of the fashion-hotel genre as you’re likely to find.
This one is more high style than haute luxe, but that’s nothing to hold against it; there are other places to go in town if you’re looking to scale dizzying heights of luxury. The Maison Moschino is content with its role as one of Milan’s most visually stylish hotels, and to be perfectly fair, it’s only in comparison with the Park Hyatts of the world that it feels less than luxe — for most of us, the Moschino, with its plasma televisions and its Culti spa, is more than plush enough.
As for the audience, the Moschino is understandably well loved by the fashion industry. It’s suitable for businesspeople of all stripes, provided they don’t mind the odd bit of challenging furniture. It’s a more inspiring environment than the usual business hotel, to be sure, and we could all use a bit more style in our travel lives.
