Don’t be fooled by the unorthodox location. Despite its address on a cobblestoned street in San Telmo, a barrio that’s deeply old-fashioned compared to the boutique-strewn Palermo, this is no glorified B&B. And while the name suggests traditional grandeur, Mansión Vitraux doesn’t feel like a mansion at all. This little hotel feels cozy, yes, but edgy and chic as well — an aesthetic that’s further enhanced by a youthful, great-looking staff and a sommelier who pours you a glass of Chardonnay from the province of San Juan before you’ve even set down your suitcase.
Like the minimalist slate-gray facade, the hotel’s petite lobby is sleek and unconventional: bright red walls and spotless panes of glass, low sofas in camel-colored leather, music videos projected onto the wall, glowing tear-drop lights illuminating the brightly colored bottles behind the cocktail bar. Such fine materials are commonplace at Mansión Vitraux, which more than compensates for the limited size of the guest rooms.
No corners have been cut here. Though each room follows a different design theme, from the sexy black-walled “Urban” room to a gilded imperial-style suite, the quality is consistent. The towels are made of Egyptian cotton, the shower heads, square and futuristic, create a gentle rain-like bath, the LCD televisions are huge, the bath products are fit for a spa, the velvet sofas are deep and plush, the lighting systems are almost intimidatingly sophisticated.
The same holds true in the inviting Spa Bleu and the Terraza Las Cupulas, complete with swimming pool and jacuzzi: everything was obviously chosen with care, from the burning candles in the massage room to the smooth hardwood panels lining the terrace. And in a city with, suddenly, too many near-identical boutique hotels, the exquisite Mansión Vitraux, small, thoughtful, and design-friendly, is a breath of fresh air.

What I liked:
Location, style, excellent breakfast included, swimming pool, staff very helpful, able to scan docs, print, had electrical converters, all excellent.
What the hotel could do better:
Room small , had slight leak in shower and bathroom, full length mirror and ability to increase lighting would be nice. Had some issues with window coverings and given in full view of lobby important to work easily !
But very convenient room

What I liked:
Very accommodating staff, nice rooms - small, but perfectly formed, and an excellent shower.
Plus, the location was fantastic for San Telmo - right near the Plaza Dorrego.
What the hotel could do better:
Nothing, I can particularly think of.

What I liked:
Amazing boutique style at a reasonable price. 2 pools (basement, rooftop) were a perfect refresher after a long flight. The room had more lighting controls than a rock concert and the choice of decor was great.
What the hotel could do better:
Nothing, had a wonderful stay!
