Just 18 miles from the clamorous, chaotic seaport of Naples, and just a ferry ride from Capri, is the alarmingly beautiful island of Ischia — perhaps the perfect reminder of what has drawn tourists to this part of the world since time immemorial.
The hotel is centered around a converted sixteenth-century watchtower on the island's northwestern coast — the perfect vantage point from which to survey the splendid calm of San Montano Bay and the Tyrrhenian Sea beyond. The more authentic (and, shall we say, cozy) rooms are located within the old watchtower — better views (and more spacious living arrangements) can be had in the outlying buildings.
Most rooms (and all suites) have balconies, or at least windows with stunning sea views — and if the view isn't doing it for you, then this may not be the place for you. Mezzotorre Resort & Spa is not for those with short attention spans; though the dazzling surroundings and the sheer comfort of the place (especially the spa) may be enough to calm even the Type A personalities among us.
The restaurants are excellent, the spa is first-rate, and the pine groves surrounding the hotel all but beg to be walked in, but for entertainment or shopping, you'll have to hop that ferry back to the mainland. We can promise that after a day in the notorious traffic and crowds of Naples you'll be filled with a new appreciation for Ischia's slow pace. Amateur archaeologists may lose themselves contemplating the view of Vesuvius, and film buffs may get a charge from the proximity to La Colombaia, director Luchino Visconti's old estate; the rest of us will have to content ourselves with the vistas, the comforts, and the quiet. Shouldn't be a problem.
Please note: Mezzatorre Resort & Spa is open seasonally from April through October.
Hotel Policies: Complimentary shuttle service is available to and from the resort, village center and nearby beach.
How to get there: Ischia is a 45 minute ferry ride from Naples. Mezzatorre Resort & Spa offers shuttle service from the ferry at the cost of 20 euros each way. Please contact CustomerService@TabletHotels.com for assistance with airport transfers.

What I liked:
The Location of the hotel was good exept that you needed transport down to the city. It was good because it was very silence and quiet. We also liked the pool area.
What the hotel could do better:
The service at the hotel wasent good. But the worst in the hotel was the restaurant. The food wasent good and it was very expensive. We had to rent à car so we could visit other places. The service in the restaurant was very bad and often i took over 1 hour to get the food. The restaurant get 1 of 5 points.

What I liked:
Location, location, location! The property is quite secluded and centered around the 16th-century watchtower overlooking its own secluded bay. The views from all vantage points of the hotel were spectacular! For someone with an unrelenting schedule, the tranquility and relative seclusion of this hotel provided a unique opportunity for me to de-stress and relax. The staff were extremely attentive and pleasant and by the end of the first day all greeted me by my name.
The food was pleasant enough although not unique; I must say I was quite impressed by the buffet breakfast spread, which encompassed everything from champagne to cereal to fruits and waffles.
As a Tablet Plus Member, I was upgraded to a comfort room which, in my view, was relatively small, but the public spaces and facilities and warm reception from the staff more than made up for it. I hardly spent any time in the room anyway.
I also found the concierge and front desk staff very helpful. They quite efficiently organized my return trip to Rome and confimed my flight on Alitalia (no easy feat).
What the hotel could do better:
My room in the Tower was a tad small and there was a faint sewage-like smell lingering in the air in the room from time to time.
I must also say, I found the food and drinks at this hotel a tad expensive. A can of coke cost about €6 and a garden salad about €18.
All in all, this was a great experience. I would stay at this property again and recommend it for that romantic getaway or, for a single gal like myself trying to escape the rat race, an opportunity to relax and be pampered in a stunning setting. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.

Review:
Although we enjoyed our stay at the Mezzatore Resort, we thought the rooms were a little small and out of the way (from the main pool/ reception area) for the price we paid. The service was hovever impeccable and would recommend it to others in the future.
