In the context of airlines, "business class" means "how I would like to fly if someone else were paying the bill." The Miraflores Park Hotel is another example of the kind of elegance and pampering ostensibly intended to minimize the discomfort of business travelers, but also quite enjoyable as an end in itself.
Miraflores is the name of an exclusive residential district in Lima, close to the cultural, commercial, and financial centers of the city. The Miraflores Park hotel is, indeed, surrounded by a park, and its glass face reflects its striking ocean views. Though presented as a hotel "specially conceived for business travelers," it is an elegant European-style boutique hotel, quite suitable for travelers concerned with leisure, who enjoy the fruits of the business-class conveniences.
Technology is on display, with two phone lines per room, internet connections available from all rooms, and laptop computers available upon request, making the Miraflores possibly the most wired hotel in Lima. Many meeting and presentation options are available, with the latest in audio-visual equipment, and the business center is accessible seven days a week.
For the civilian traveler, this means little, other than the opportunity to send emails with the subject line "I'm in Peru!" More relevant perhaps are the ocean views, the fine linens, marble and granite bathrooms, or a swim in the stunning rooftop pool. There is, of course, a spa, featuring massage, facials, and the adventure of a $15 haircut. Indoor squash, fitness equipment, and access to golf at the Villa country club and tennis at Las Terrazas are available as well.
Where better to raise a glass to the trials of the modern businessman than the hotel's whimsically English-themed Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde bar, or the hotel's Ambrosia restaurant. But this is no resort - Lima is a bustling, cosmopolitan city of eight million, and the Miraflores district does not lack for nightlife. The attractions of any major city are easily accessible. There is no reason not to get out and explore, even if you have no business in Peru.
Please note: Miraflores Park will be undergoing renovations and closing its doors on December 1, 2013. The hotel is set to reopen on March 31st, 2014.

What I liked:
The lobby and flower arrangements were gorgeous. The water power of the shower was amazing - it felt like being under a waterfall. The breakfast was delicious and the views amazing.
What the hotel could do better:
Nothing, had a wonderful stay!

What I liked:
We arrived by taxi and didn't have small change for the fare (a common problem in Peru, it seems). Without asking, a bell boy paid for the fare out of his own pocket and didn't make a big deal out of it. Incredible -- great staff at the door. Immediately helped ease the grind of a long day traveling.
Great ocean view, great breakfast, great rooftop pool that's long enough for lap swim.
What the hotel could do better:
Check the attitudes at the front desk and lobby bar -- should be more hospitable like the guys at the door.
