International jet-setters may come to Denmark in search of modernist furniture. But they’ll inevitably be surprised to discover that one of Copenhagen’s best-kept secrets, the Nimb, is anything but a design hotel — the quiet confidence of this 14-room lodging leaves the hard-striving hipster boutiques in the dust.
This building, bordering on the famed Tivoli Gardens, has been in the family for generations. While its present incarnation as a hotel is brand new, the look is timeless, classic furnishings and top-quality materials arranged with a keen modern eye, familiar and at the same time totally unique. It’s the oldest cliché in the book to say that a hotel feels like a private home but every now and then it actually turns out to be true.
Then again very few private homes can boast of Tivoli Gardens as a backyard, much less a wine cellar to rival Nimb’s Vinotek, or as a classic, cozy little hotel bar. Not to mention the restaurants: Nimb is one of the epicenters of Copenhagen’s ongoing culinary revolution, and its restaurant, the French-inspired Nimb Brasserie, is among the hottest tickets in Northern Europe.

What I liked:
Very nice atmosphere, and extraordinary swift and professional service, friendly staff
What the hotel could do better:
Rooms facing the main street should be sound insulated as the traffic and night life is a bit disturbing during the night and early morning hours

What I liked:
The rooms are beautiful and elegant, with bespoke design for each room, and a fireplace which the staff will come and light for you. The bathroom was large with great amenities. The staff treated us like old friends, in a natural and welcoming way. The food was fantastic.
What the hotel could do better:
Nothing, had a wonderful stay!

What I liked:
The fact that it was part of the Tivoli Gardens. Also all the staff were fantastic & the Bang & Olufson equipment was great although we didn't use it that much as there was so much happening in the gardens.
What the hotel could do better:
Nothing, had a wonderful stay! However, it's probably out of the reach of the Nimb's influence but the Gardens seem to be maintained sometimes at 5 in the morning which did disturb us on the Saturday! Can't they do it later?
