Under no circumstances should anyone be put off by the unashamedly dated exterior of this one-time office block. The Sixties are inevitably the new Fifties, and this populist-utopian strain of Sixties modernism is only just now distant enough to be coming back into fashion.
And whether or not you’re ready to revisit that era ceases to matter once you’re inside. Nordic Light’s interiors are all 21st-century modern minimalism, Scandinavian style, set apart from countless otherwise similar hotels by an inordinate attention to lighting; the “light architect,” Kai Piippo, has earned his fee several times over. An endless (and seasonally variable) array of lighting effects, both subtle and otherwise, engage the eye at every turn.
Standard and Superior rooms keep it simple, making the most of their allotment of natural light and, in winter, making up the difference in pure white. But it’s in the Mood rooms that Nordic Light has earned its reputation: here moving patterns are projected on the walls, and the backlit headboard cycles through a spectrum of wintry tones.
Some guests will be in the mood for some color therapy, and some won’t. With 175 rooms, Nordic Light is big enough that there’s something for everyone — there’s a restaurant serving a Swedish interpretation of California cuisine, and a handful of bars, including a wine cellar, a martini lounge, and the Absolut Icebar across the road in the sister Nordic Sea hotel. The Arlanda Express station is just around the corner, for easy access to the airport, and the surrounding Normalm district is central for business travelers and shoppers alike.

What I liked:
The hotel location was amazing. Literally right in front of the Arlanda Express. Also central to the city, and other part of Stockholm! The hotel is very modern and chic, the rooms are fantastic, and the buffet was amazing! Definitely worth waking up early to eat! Although, there is no concierge, the staff was very helpful with asking about how to get to certain places in the city.
What the hotel could do better:
A concierge would be nice. Also the t.v. was challenging to understand. I had a hard time figuring out how to use the menu, and looking for non speaking Swedish channels, but it was not a big deal. Oh, and the showers were also confusing. How do u balance hot with cold? Minor, and I am sure I could ask the hotel staff if I was there long enough.

What I liked:
Location next to the airport train in the city centre is very convenient if you're on a short trip to the city. The hotel has fast free wi-fi and they give you a late check out of 2pm which is handy.
What the hotel could do better:
The hotel is essentially budget - the rooms are small and the finish in the room whilst slightly stylish is really quite basic and not what you would expect for the money in a hotel elsewhere (but Sweden is expensive). It feels like you are in a converted office block, which you are! I don't expect to see cables attached to the wall using ugly cheap trunking in a hotel I find on Tablet's site, nor do I expect to have to use toiletries that are dispensed out of bottles attached to the shower wall. It felt like a Travelodge with a single cool projector light in the room to give the illusion of a design hotel.
