Though the phrase “extended stay” may summon images of dreary corporate apartments, West Hollywood’s Palihouse Holloway proves that it’s a concept that can be done in high style. Boasting boutique-hotel looks alongside apartment-scale space and a discreet low-maintenance atmosphere, it’s quite a change from the paper-thin walls and late-night circus ambience of the typical high-design establishment.
Any place you’re meant to spend upwards of a week had better come with plenty of creature comforts, and this one does: six hundred square feet, at minimum, plus full kitchens. Flat-screen televisions and DVD players are standard, as are high-end Egyptian cotton linens and marble bathrooms equipped with rain showers and C.O. Bigelow bath products.
And anywhere you’re settling in for an extended stay should have a restaurant that it’s hard to get tired of. On that score The Hall is much more than adequate, serving classic brasserie fare on a courtyard patio and in an adjoining dining room, both charmingly sedate spaces. Add a lobby lounge and an espresso bar and you’re covered for all hours of the day or night — for a week in West Hollywood you could do a whole lot worse.

super awkward floor plans. the door to the room practically opened onto the bed. very noisy courtyard with sound carrying into the rooms. not recommended for those looking for a quiet spot.
I would defenitely recommend the Palihous to a friend. The rooms are amazing like you are staying at your own apartment, sapcious and so chic. The lobby is great and the service friendly and gratious.

The ONLY draw back was that in order to get housekeeping every day you have to ask for it. But other than that absolutley fantastic!

The scores are based on responses to our feedback survey, which is sent automatically to every user after the completion of a hotel stay booked through Tablet Hotels. We receive responses every day, the scores change accordingly - in real-time.
This way we can be absolutely certain of the integrity of the rating process - on some travel websites, there is nothing preventing the General Manager from giving his own hotel a perfect score, or the concierge from across the street, posing as a dissatisfied guest, giving his competitor all zeros. You have probably seen questionable user reviews on other websites, whether flowery advertising copy written by fake guests, or vague negative attacks written anonymously. You will not see any of this on Tablet Hotels.
How does a hotel remain a Tablet Hotel?
We have selected nothing but the most unique and extraordinary properties from around the world, but circumstances at individual hotels can change quickly. Therefore it is up to our customers to inform us if one of our properties has taken a turn for the worse. The Tablet Hotels Meter works on a 20-point scale, and for a hotel to keep its place on Tablet Hotels, the magic number is 15.
This is not just an arbitrary figure; we have two years' worth of data, from past user feedback, and we have found that the hotels whose scores drop below 15 are those experiencing recurring problems, and guest detailed reports reflect the same serious concern, whether it be service, room quality, noise or something else.
The Tablet Hotels Meter will not display a score until we have had at least two customers rate the hotel. This way one person's unfortunate stay cannot carry too much weight. And once five guests have returned their verdicts, the rating becomes a more scientific measure of the opinion of the average guest. At this point, if the hotel's average overall score drops below 15, the hotel will be automatically removed from the site.
Your opinion really does count; in this case, it is the only thing keeping the hotels you visit on the site. On a more positive note, the hotels with top scores are featured in our "Tablet 10" lists. And as a side benefit, this system will encourage hotels to extend their best level of service to Tablet Hotels users - we turn every Tablet Hotels client into a reviewer!
