Though the reference is likely lost on some of its visitors, the Petit Ermitage isn’t named for just any old hermitage. Here in the heart of West Hollywood is a boutique hotel that doubles as a tribute to Catherine the Great’s Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg (that’s the one in Russia, but you knew that). Come for the heavy atmosphere of Tsarist decadence, and stay for the poolside cabanas.
In actual fact it’s pitched at the neo-bohemian crowd, rather than the aristocracy, who’ll likely confine themselves to Beverly Hills. West Hollywood is for a more artistic crowd, one that’ll appreciate the layers of irony involved in a California hotel that’s an homage to a 19th-century Russian version of Venice (the one in Italy, but you knew that too). That’s not to say these suites aren’t comfortable, because they are; from the demi-suites on up to the Masters Quarters they’re spacious and plush, the latter serviced by personal butlers.
Diversions include yoga classes or spa treatments delivered en suite, and the jewel in the Petit Ermitage’s crown is the saltwater rooftop pool. By day it’s the place to catch a ray or two, but by night, in keeping with local custom, it turns into a lounges space full of nooks and crannies, from the private cabanas to the gardens, a haven for butterflies and hummingbirds. A typical Los Angeles hotel this most certainly isn’t.

What I liked:
The hotel has a great location, however the room view was terrible!, a dirty rooftop indeed!, the room service was terrible, no napkins ever, coffee just for one and that means just one cup and obviously we were two! Rude people at the front desk, nice people at the valet parking.
What the hotel could do better:
The hotel could improve courtesy and service, they consider themselves more important than the guests!

What I liked:
Our stay at Petit Ermitage was the highlight of our trip to the US. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and have recommended it to all my friends.
A bohemian decor but with exceptional service from the valet parking to the room service. It was perfect
What the hotel could do better:
Nothing, had a wonderful stay!

What I liked:
If you are a vampire you might enjoy the super dark hotel rooms with the odd pseudo Moroccan decor. I was "upgraded" at check in to a room right off the lobby that looked out on a grate with large warning to keep locked and a cement wall. Sunshine wasn't making it into this room no way no how and the jackhammers outside were super fun. Lobby needs some cleaning and attention with a paint brush. The roof top area is lovely and the only reason to stay here. The bed was comfy and the linens were great. No iron in the room and when I called for one I had to sign a disclaimer that I basically wouldn't set the room on fire before they would give it to me... Sink was plugged up on arrival but fixed quickly. Would I stay here again? No.
What the hotel could do better:
A lot.
