The Croatian Riviera hasn’t been a Riviera for all that long, and you could be forgiven for thinking the evolution of the Dubrovnik hospitality scene might take place a little less quickly. But the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa ought to be all the proof you could want that things are moving along very nicely indeed. We’re not talking about some little villa with a pool on the terrace — this is a behemoth of a hotel, with four hundred rooms, suites and apartments, and no fewer than thirteen restaurants and bars.
By virtue of its sheer size the Blu could be a bit faceless, but fine service makes it feel smaller, and its visual style is anything but bland — this is the group, after all, that first made its mark with the Arne Jacobsen–designed Royal in Copenhagen, a monument to modern design. The Blu Dubrovnik might not be quite the icon, but its interiors are sharp and contemporary, with just enough bright Adriatic blue to make a point without belaboring it.
And of course the positives that come from the Blu’s large scale are welcome: the hotel’s spa is the region’s largest, the swimming options include three pools and a beach, and among the thirteen food and beverage offerings is a food market serving local products from pastries to fish to wine.

What I liked:
Good atmosphere, beautiful design, personal and friendly atmosphere in spite of large resort
What the hotel could do better:
The food could be better, better to eat outside of the resort if you are a foodie! They do have a new head chef coming though, so this might improve, I don't know.

What I liked:
This place blew our minds. We pulled up and were lost for words with how beautiful the hotel and the reviews were. My husband is Croatian, but I handled most of the talking as I had made the reservation and everyone spoke perfect English which made it so easy. The rooms were amazing and the service was outstanding, with people constantly freshing towels and coming in to turn-down your bed and place a chocolate on our pillows. We tried out a few of their resturants which were amazing - I would high recommend the seafood place, which brings out the fresh catches of the day on ice for you to choose your fish. We also used the jet skis to go around the islands and it will be one of my favourite memories from our trip! Although we weren't in Starigrad I think this location was better - as we weren't in with crowds and we often had the beach to ourselves.
What the hotel could do better:
Nothing, had a wonderful stay!
