Is it just us, or does the name Tenface bring to mind a cartoon character, rather than a Bangkok boutique? A portly, helpful fellow, perhaps, who greets you upon arrival with essentials like a SIM card to insert into your mobile for local calls and an iPod to use while squiring yourself around the nonstop hubbub that characterizes this metropolis. At night, he shows you how to select a special pillow from the menu that comes with your room. If you’re nice, he might introduce you to the in-house DJ at Sita Bar downstairs.
Sweet, we know, but there’s nothing cartoonish about the hotel itself. Instead, it sports the marriage of clean lines, golden fabrics, and stylized scenes of tigers and warriors often bundled together under the “Thai deco” label. In a city that sometimes doesn’t, this hotel feels intelligible. To wit, complimentary 24-hour tuk-tuk service, and a vintage car painted with Tenface’s circular logo. Some rooms have balconies, some suites have kitchens, the pool area has chairs for laying out.
The neighborhood houses shopping districts and embassies, making Tenface an excellent choice for political polymaths with plastic. Yes, you’ll run into some guests taking advantage of the long-stay rates. Fear not, as these aren’t backpackers who’ve decided to hang up their Birkenstocks for a while. Rather, you’re more likely to encounter business people taking advantage of the hotel’s proximity to main drags like Wireless Road or the cosmopolitan couple on holiday who wanted accommodations away from the centrally located craziness.

What I liked:
Everything--a small hotel in a back alley of shopping areas in Bangkok. They provided a free tuk tuk service, gave a BTS card and a phone card--nice touch! The decor was interesting, and friendly staffs too i might add.
