London’s Marble Arch has had a strange story; this stone monument used to mark the entry to Buckingham Palace, and now it marks the west end of Oxford Street. Surely there’s some small consolation to be had, however, from the fact that the neighborhood is very much in the ascendant; a few blocks up Great Cumberland Place is a converted row of townhouses now doing business as a boutique hotel called The Arch.
There’s no shortage of other places to stay in the vicinity, but few so stylish; despite its Georgian heritage, the Arch’s designers haven’t been shy about updating the look. It’s got a bit of industrial edge, a bit of clean-lined modern design, and plenty of traditional coziness — though business travelers will by no means feel out of place, the Arch seems tailor-made for romance.
And shopping, to be perfectly fair — though that’s more a function of location than anything else. A short walk in just about any direction could conceivably end with a wallet that’s considerably lightened. Just keep a few pounds in the account to cover dinner and drinks at the Arch’s restaurant, the orthographically unorthodox HUNter 486 (a name which, it must be said, will make rather more sense to telephone-exchange enthusiasts).

What I liked:
The room was amazing. The complimentary drinks and Nespresso maker were a definite plus. The hotel is new, clean and quiet. The location couldn't be better. The staff was so attentive. I had lunch at the restaurant and the food was delicious. Room service was always prompt and spot on. I would highly recommend this hotel.
