Some hotels may charge extra for a rollaway bed or a crib - depending upon age. This possible extra charge is not always displayed by the hotel to appear with the list of available rates offered.
In order to make sure that you see the exact rate that you will be charged for an accommodation for more than 2 adults, it is best to double-check by
emailing us at customer service
with your dates and the ages of your children. We will be happy to confirm rates and availability for you.
We now have a new service dedicated to those Tablet Hotels users traveling with children that searches only the verified kid-friendly hotels.

The Oberoi Rajvilas is, quite perfectly, the India of our imagination, with all her beauties distilled and dusted down, plus the conveniences and the luxuries that only a modern mind could dream of. Fortress walls gleam white in the moonlight, surrounding an 18th-century Hindu temple rising out of a lotus-strewn pond. Carved elephants rear at entrances, and fountains glitter lavishly with hand-painted blue tiles. Dancers perform by candlelight, as you dine off of handmade tablecloths. Men stalk the grounds in uniform, shooing the birds away. The beauty is almost unreal—not the ravaged beauty of history, but the unspoiled beauty of dreams. So it’s not surprising to find out that most of The Oberoi Rajvilas is only five years old, though constructed using traditional techniques like camel-pulled mills. It’s also not surprising that the architects took more of their inspiration from paintings than real life. This isn’t authenticity, it’s fantasy, but it definitely feels and looks good.
The ratio of staff to guests here is five to one. Staff scurry out to greet you with a glass of watermelon juice after you emerge from your air-conditioned jeep. At every turn, there is someone—dressed in traditional costume—somberly awaiting your instructions. Warning. If being waited on bugs you, you may want to steer clear; some people find the scope of servility here a little unnerving. The rest of us just lean back by the blue tiled pool and wait for our drinks to be topped up or indulge in an Ayurvedic at the Spa. But for the ultimate in exoticism and pampering stay in a tent inspired by those taken by royalty on hunting chests. Decorated with Victorian beds, steamer trunks and claw foot tubs and roofed in thick silk with rollaway rugs, they also boast air conditioning and hot water. And did we also mention that they come with cooks, servants and dancers?
So if you want to experience India as reality, by all means, get into a rickshaw and take your chances in the heaving mass of the Pink City. But if you want to preserve India as a fantasy then the The Oberoi Rajvilas is the place for you. We promise that it won’t disappoint your imagination.
How to get there:
The Oberoi Rajvilas is a 40 minute drive from Jaipur Airport. The drive from Delhi to Jaipur takes approximately 4 hours. The hotel is also accessible by train. The Oberoi Rajvilas is approximately 14 km from Jaipur railway station and the travel time by train from New Delhi to Jaipur is approximately 5 1/2 hours by Puja Express. A fast train, Shatabdi Express, takes 4 hours between Jaipur from Delhi.
India can be a bit overwhelming. Getting around is tough, traffic a nightmare, the heat intense, and the lack of personal space after a long day out can be just too much. This hotel, the grounds, and the highly intuitive staff all bring a sense of peace and manageability to Jaipur. The extreme difference between the scene outside the hotel and the paradise within was an excellent combination, and leaves one wanting more. We are already planning our next trip.
The Tablet Hotels Meter is a running average of the ratings given to a hotel by registered Tablet Hotels users who have actually stayed at the hotel. The scores are based on responses to our feedback survey, which is sent automatically to every user after the completion of a hotel stay booked through Tablet Hotels. We receive responses every day, the scores change accordingly - in real-time.
This way we can be absolutely certain of the integrity of the rating process - on some travel websites, there is nothing preventing the General Manager from giving his own hotel a perfect score, or the concierge from across the street, posing as a dissatisfied guest, giving his competitor all zeros. You have probably seen questionable user reviews on other websites, whether flowery advertising copy written by fake guests, or vague negative attacks written anonymously. You will not see any of this on Tablet Hotels.
How does a hotel remain a Tablet Hotel?
We have selected nothing but the most unique and extraordinary properties from around the world, but circumstances at individual hotels can change quickly. Therefore it is up to our customers to inform us if one of our properties has taken a turn for the worse. The Tablet Hotels Meter works on a 20-point scale, and for a hotel to keep its place on Tablet Hotels, the magic number is 15.
This is not just an arbitrary figure; we have two years' worth of data, from past user feedback, and we have found that the hotels whose scores drop below 15 are those experiencing recurring problems, and guest detailed reports reflect the same serious concern, whether it be service, room quality, noise or something else.
The Tablet Hotels Meter will not display a score until we have had at least two customers rate the hotel. This way one person's unfortunate stay cannot carry too much weight. And once five guests have returned their verdicts, the rating becomes a more scientific measure of the opinion of the average guest. At this point, if the hotel's average overall score drops below 15, the hotel will be automatically removed from the site.
Your opinion really does count; in this case, it is the only thing keeping the hotels you visit on the site. On a more positive note, the hotels with top scores are featured in our "Tablet 10" lists. And as a side benefit, this system will encourage hotels to extend their best level of service to Tablet Hotels users - we turn every Tablet Hotels client into a reviewer!
This is a moderated forum; all hotel reviews and travel recommendations must follow the Tablet Hotels and Tablet Talk guidelines below. We will not publish a hotel review or a travel recommendation unless it is:
Original
Please don't quote from other sources or otherwise reprint material published elsewhere, including your own comments on other travel review sites.
Relevant to other travelers
This is not a forum for general political, ethical or religious opinions. Nor is it a place for questions or comments directed to property representatives, Tablet Inc. staff, or other Tablet Talk members - we encourage you to use private channels for such communications. It should go without saying that we don't want to see personal insults or language that a reasonable observer might deem offensive. And please keep your submissions current - no need to mention a trip that happened more than two years ago.
A personal opinion or recommendation
Hotel reviews are restricted to verified guests who booked their stays through TabletHotels.com. Likewise, travel recommendations must be based on first-hand experience. No recommendations or reviews written by owners or managers posing as guests, or by current or past employees, or second-hand hearsay from others. If your friend/cousin/neighbor has something to contribute then you should invite them to join the community so that they may share their opinions themselves.
We do not allow recommendations to be written based on incentives from property owners/management. Offering discounts or upgrades or other special treatment in exchange for reviews is very much against the rules, and any property found to be engaging in this sort of thing will be dealt with most unforgivingly.
Non-commercial
Comment spam is a serious problem, and we will reject even the most borderline cases. No commercial web address, e-mail addresses or contact information. No promotional material of any kind. We reserve the right to reject any URL for any reason.
Written with standard e-mail etiquette
This is a forum with a broad readership; don't assume that hotel owners in Milan and travel agents in Guangzhou are familiar with the latest slang and shorthand, or that typographic symbols will be rendered properly across all platforms. Please don't shout in ALL CAPS - in general, keep it readable. And for various boring technical reasons, HTML tags and most forms of text and paragraph formatting, even simple lists, will not survive the posting process.

Tablet Inc. reserves the right to remove any hotel review or travel recommendation at its sole discretion, for violation of the above guidelines or for any other reasons.
These reviews are posted exclusively by verified guests whose stays were booked through TabletHotels.com. We do encourage our clients to express their opinions, and what makes a hotel experience great is often something subjective, a matter of personal taste. At the same time, many of the hotels we list are extreme in one dimension or another, and are bound to disappoint somebody somewhere. These reviews are an excellent way to identify a hotel's particular quirks, and thereby avoid a poor hotel-guest match. But remember: if a hotel's overall customer rating falls lower than 15 out of 20, the hotel will be removed from our listings.
The opinions expressed in these reviews are solely those of our clients; the opinions expressed in any hotel management responses are solely those of the hotels themselves. We do not endorse any of the opinions expressed within the reviews, and we are not affiliated with any of the hotels in question. We reserve the right to remove any of the review or management response at our discretion.
