The Lloyd Hotel was extremely interesting. The renovations of this historic building were innovative and interesting. The beds were comfortable, the staff helpful, and the restaurant was good. The hotel is a great value for Amsterdam. It is located on the docks, but it is easy to get a tram everywhere and the staff will sell you a tram pass. You are definitely not in a tourist area. Ann at the restaurant introduced us to new Dutch dishes we had never heard of and we were grateful to her for making us feel so welcome.Great value, enjoyable restaurant, good food, friendly staff, stylish, and fun. In my entire life, I have never seen such an innovative restoration in a hotel room. The rooms are really different.

I love the fact that it was completely different from the normal hotel experience.

Our room (Suite 602) was great--except for one thing: it is not terribly well lit which makes it tricky if most of your clothing is black!Otherwise it was great, SUPER comfy bed, sheets, pillows and duvet. Also we LOVED the waitress with the red hair from Ireland. She made us feel right at home!

The hotel overall is fantastic - beautiful old building, great location along the water (away from stoner tourists). Also, the restaurant is amazing; and not just by hotel restaurant standards!
