“I loved the decor, the service was outstanding and the rooms were very nice, albeit a bit smallish. However, the trump cards for this Hotel are its brilliant roof terrace with pool and its great location right off the Ramblas. One moment you are amongst the throngs of tourist pushing through the street theatre of the Ramblas and the next you are sitting in the sun, next to the pool, with a fantastic mojito in your hands.”

“Location, an unbelievably quiet oasis in the heart of Las Ramblas, beautiful furnishings and ambience, free and functioning wifi, incomparable service in all areas of the hotel, room service, the front desk, the spa, the rooftop swimming pool bar. They actually adjusted their wireless internet service so that I could work more comfortably from the roof top pool overlooking a stunning view of Barcelona. I have stayed in some prestigious 5 star hotels over the years but this one seriously impresses. They seem to pull out all the stops to ensure a great stay. I was told by some hoteliers I met in Barcelona with insider knowledge of the hotel business, that H1898 is the best hotel in Barcelona by a country mile and I have to say I share that opinion. The new W Barcelona definitely has some high standards to live up to.”
