  6. “Location. Next to Mercat St. Antoni and only a 12-15 min walk to the main city centre.Very nice decor in rooms. Simple, modern, trendy. Atmosphere in the lobby/restaurant area is very nice. Good romantic lighting and soft jazz.Nice bathroom and excellent shower, though it needs a shower curtainRestaraunt was very reasonably priced and serves general modern fare (burgers etc.) and a limited selection of tapas in a pleasant atmosphere. Not mind blowing food and not if you are looking for authentic Spanish cuisine but a decent option if you arrive late, have busted your budget on eating out already, or are too tired to step out.”

  7. “The hotel is located in the up-and-coming area called San Antonio (there is a wonderful food market around the corner, don't miss it!) - it is very close to the metro but also walking distance to downtown Barcelona. I loved the fact that I was removed from the Ramblas and the downtown touristy areas. The room was nicely decorated, comfortable and big with a nice dressing area and a small balcony. The bathroom was quite nice with slate floor which I loved -overall I really liked the decor of the hotel. The restaurant is excellent and the decor breathtaking, what a gorgeous place!”

  8. “The room was very nice. Once our message got to the proper person some room repairs were done quickly. My wife's ATM card was stolen while out on the town and the desk staff was very helpful with the use of a computer, and faxing the police report to our bank. In fact, the staff was generally very friendly, competent, and helpful The water and fruit were a nice touch. As a separate staff the restaurant crew gave excellent service for the most part.”

  10. “Location is sufficiently away from the Ramblas, etc. so it isn't the 'swarming tourist' Barcelona experience. Rooms were large and cool.”

  11. “We LOVED this hotel. Having just come from a week in Italy (Florence region), we were greeted with a comfortable bed, free wi-fi, rainshower, outdoor deck and some very luxurious interior design. We cannot tell you how happy we were to plunk down our bags and bodies! Had we known how fabulous this hotel was we would have booked our entire stay in Barcelona here. The staff were very charming and helpful, the layout of our room was smart for the limited space, the interior decoration was clean and minimal yet still felt luxurious (love the big hit of color in the Mao print). We did not eat in the restaurant so unfortunately cannot comment on that, although we did partake in the daily breakfast which got our days off to perfect starts.”

  12. “Beautiful room with high ceilings, modern four poster bed, even at the bargain price we found. Helpful front desk showed none of the attitude discussed in other reviews, beautiful restaurant I wish we had a chance to eat at since the mix of locals and tourists seemed to really be enjoying their delicious-looking food. Bikes for rent are always a nice touch, but particularly so in this town. Lovely, central but very local part of Barcelona. Definitely take a map to show taxi drivers the hotel's location; it's at the corner of a street and an alley, but the address is on the alley which most cabs won't recognize. There's kind of a secret pleasure to knowing where an alley is hidden when your cab driver doesn't. The hotel is owned by a group that has a slew of local restaurants and properties. It's designey, but in a thoughtful way that makes you feel like they cared rather than leaving you feeling cold. We'll definitely be back.”
