“The price was very good compared to other hotels I have stayed at, and the location was within walking distance of my first meeting. I still think that a good concierge is worth his/her weight in gold, and in this case The Halkin doesn't disappoint. It's like having a business partner on foreign soil. Working through TabletPlus they secured me 10th row center seats to the Elton John musical Billy Elliot for my 15th anniversary, and had a bottle of champagne and strawberries on ice in the room waiting for our return.”

“Location is A1 - smack dab in the middle of one of London's most desirable residential areas. Makes you feel as if you are staying with a friend rather than at a hotel. And finally a bathtub that you can fill with water up to your neck!”

“The mark of good hotel is how much they remember about you from your last visit, or whether they have prepared for your upcoming stay. By that measure The Halkin exceeded expectations. I have stayed there a number of times, so at this point it was nice to see---for example---that they remembered which newspaper I like in the morning without having to ask. In addition, I have recently discovered that I am gluten intolerant, so I emailed them ahead using the Tablet customer support group to ask for gluten free bread at breakfast in the morning. The first morning they had it ready, and the second morning it arrived warm on my table without having to request it. Now that's good!In addition the central location near Hyde Park Corner is very convenient if you have business to do in Mayfair, museums you want to see, or friends who live in town. The tube is two blocks away, and Harrods is a 10 minute stroll. I never had trouble getting a taxi, only getting over the sticker shock when it came time to pay the meter rate!”
