“hello, i just want you to know that you guys have a very nice hote with great atmosphere. there is however a small issue that i encountered. i was staying on the second floor and unfortunately i was able to hear the people above me while they walked about in their room. i believe the floor boards are older therefore a screching sound was emited when people walked. i was unable to sleep afetr 8am because the noise is considerable loud.”

“Might not be a bad idea to let prospective visitors know that rooms on the 2nd floor throb with bass from the bar downstairs until at least 2 a.m. I had earplugs with me so it wasn't a problem, but unless you're up late every night it might be an issue. Also, wireless internet in the room barely worked. Signal was only intermittently strong enough, and then only right by the door.Positives: Comfy bed. I really liked having a balcony in my room. Great view (on opposite side of building from Sunset Blvd.) Very friendly staff. Great breakfast in the diner.”

“My stay at The Standard Hollywood was excellent and fresh. The atmosphere was well designed and lively, the facilities were well maintained. I was most impressed by the quality of service I received and the energy of the employees - from the front desk crew to room service, parking attendants and housekeeping. The food and drinks offered provided a good variety and I enjoyed the creative spin on old classics. 24-hour room service was a welcome perk. Only negative: LA had the coldest temperatures in 15 years, and I was really cold in my room, even with the 2nd blanket housekeeping brought up.”

“Had breakfast in hotel, not very good, service slow, pricey for what you got.Restaurant staff, while very pleasant, looked "scruffy", others looked like they needed a bath. Ditto valet staff.I'm 40 years old, probably not your typical client, but I am a former food service executive and at times found it hard to distinguish guests from employees.Overall, I enjoyed my stay and maybe consider it again.”
