  2. “The first impression of the hotel was not good as there was work being done on the carpark (which was for local residents)so e had have the car valet parked. The reception had a very relaxed attitude very laid back which was in keeping with the whole style of the hotel. The first room we were given was to small and badly located we were moved without any fuss to a larger room overlooking the pool area. My husband and I (who are both in our early 60's where entranced with the hotel and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. It was totally relaxing and the Spa area exceptional.”

  3. “I had stayed at the Lido some years ago and wanted a spa experience again. My roomate and I would have preferred twin bed accommtionsbut the king worked out OK. We made own spa eating plan but would have liked to have a little more regimentation in that area. It is also hard to get from the lockers to the spa facility on a rainy day.All in all we would return again even though I don't think we are the demographics you are looking for! See you next year!”

  4. “the hotel spa areas were fantastic, the entrance to the hotel through an unfinished car prk is dispiriting. The lack of welcome from hotel staff to the exterior is not good. The reception staff are excellant bit overworked at a cramped desk with no management back up. The rooms arenearly interesting but opening directlu out onto an exterior corridor rather strange. The spa areas and the pool area and restaurant are sublime. By far the best in Miami and worthwhile going back for. Seduced - not quite. the Raleigh i think is welcoming, glamorous but i did not see the rooms.”

  6. “The hotel has just put in a new front office management team. They seem to want to effect a positive change. Time will tell.”

  8. “th rooms in the hotel, all clustered around a courtyard, are loud. the walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbor pretty much at all hours. although the facilities are nice - good resaurant/cafe, nice pool, great spa - the rooms themselves are budget at best. also the hotel's location is very far removed from anything; you're essentially surrounded by a motorway and condos.”

  9. “I enjoyed my stay at the standard because it was so unique and tranquil. You had all (if not better) the little perks that make south beach hotels interesting, plus better style, service, and that chic factor. The only drawbacks were the lunch-great location, ok food (though dinner was great), and uneven service. Most folks were fabulous (Arturo? front desk? he was great) while other people made it seem like you were wasting their time. The spa was fantastic, the pools relaxing, and the room cozy. I live in Miami and wanted to treat myself to a mini-retreat w/ some sass-the Standard delivered”

  10. “The Standard Hotel in Miami Beach was a very attractive property but there's a big issue with parking, among other things, the rooms are very small and they are not sound proof. There was a constant and very loud noise caused by the maintenance workers and their utility carts, which passed in front of the room well into the late hours of the night and started up again really early in the morning. I don't think I will be staying at the Standard ever again; the hotel should be removed from your list.”

  11. “I was impressed with the unique concept of the property and I will try it again. But I was disappointed that information provided by the hotel emphasized quiet behavior (since the hotel is a spa) and that most other guests seemed to pay no attention to this, nor was there any enforcement by staff.”

  12. “Although the lobby was a bit disappointing (or maybe i didn't get the kitsch thing) the rest of the hotel was absolutely stunning and i already plan to return later in the year. The staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms were wonderful and the pool and spa facilities were excellent. The location was perfect too. It would even be better if the hotel provided internet access.”
