  2. “Very friendly and efficient staff. Room was suprisingly quiet, I was concerned about being near the ice machine but the only area I could hear it in was the bathroom. The room was spacious, especially for New York standards. The bell men were excellent! I never had to wait long for a cab considering they had to run to another block to hail them. The business center was easily accessable and user friendly.”

  4. “I was greeted by a super friendly concierge named Guy, upgraded to a wonderful suite and surprised with a complimentary bottle of sake and nuts moments later. Both Guy and Esther (who I met the next am) were beyond cool, and combined a warm and friendly demeanor with whip-smart professionalism. The hotel is decorated like an English library in the Adirondacks -- antlers, vintage leather furniture, cool old books and a leather rhinoceros dot the lobby. The rooms are sparer, but still quite luxurious -- I loved the leather horse bit bedside lamps and the tartan blanket at the edge of the bed. Plus, being that far down on Wall Street was fascinating. I lived in Manhattan for 10 years and felt like I suddenly had a mysterious new city to explore. Highly recommend -- my 6 year old son can't wait to go back!”

  5. “Both my husband and I liked the fact that this hotel is nowhere near Times Square. The area is so close to the financial district that the crowd was definitely more business than pleasure - which was fine for us. There are a couple of subway stations nearby - so travel was no problem for us.The staff was extremely helpful and friendly - we really appreciated them holding our luggage both before check-in and after check-out as our flights were at odd times. We also really liked the quirky interior design – of the restaurant, lobby, corridors and the room.”

  8. “The room was enormous for an NYC hotel room, and the little welcome pack was quite nice as well (Tablet Plus perks are very good here). The barman makes a deadly gin and tonic and the Kiehl's bath products are a nice touch. The bed was amazing and the whole place is spotless and well-equipped. Being in the financial district means it is quiet at night.”

  9. “The rooms are fairly spacious and the service proved itself excellent (which often seems to be the case soon after opening - hopefully it will also stay like this). The hotel is located on a side street and pleasantly quiet compared with several other locations in New York.”

  10. “The tall ceilings, efficient use of space and well-designed furnishings made the room feel like one of larger ones I've had in Manhattan. The swank on-site lounge and Todd English restaurant, along with taxi dispatchers who make it easy to get a cab, keep this from feeling like too much of a ghost town if you're staying there on a weekend.”

  11. “I recently stayed for one night at the Gild as I had business meetings downtown. The location is convenient for anyone doing business in the Fulton to Wall Street area. The ambience in the hotel is informal chic, as one would expect with a Thompson Hotel, and the rooms are well appointed. In other aspects the hotel was fair value for money given NY costs (of course) these days, and the bar had a nice atmosphere after work given its location.”

  12. “The decor was cool. Loved the "skinny fries" from my room service order, and the Fresh brand shampoos, lotions, etc. are my favorites. The "Fat Witch Bakery" brownie was also a nice surprise.”
