  1. “The room had a view of a concrete wall, which was disappointing. One would also not expect a window unit HVAC unit in a hotel with this price tag.”

  2. “The help at the front desk was not as helpful. We were less than 1 hour from check in time and they made us check our bags and come back. Additionally when we asked about some restaurants for reservations a women at the front desk informed us they were booked however when we called from our room the restaurant had reservations.”

  3. “Confusion over 24hr room service. Told that a 5:00 am coffee request was not possible. Discussion w/ concierge yielded "special" delivery.”

  5. “the Shoreham had a great location (a couple blocks from Central Park, near all the Madison Avenue shopping) and was clean - the room was spacious but the bathroom was a little tight. The hotel allowed us to bring our 2 small dogs with us and they were very gracious about it - we kept the dogs in their crates whenever we were not in our room.”

  6. “The Shoreham is an excellent low cost mid-town alternative with larger rooms than the Hudson. We've been staying at the London NYC which costs double the Shoreham rates. My complaints: the lifts are pretty bad, small and slow. The walls and doors are on the thin side, so noise could be a problem. The TV could not be turned off with the remote. That's about it.”

  8. “the service was the most disappointing aspect of the entire stay. i used to live in nyc and was taking my fiance to the city for his first time - unfortunately, our displeasure at the shoreham colored his impression of the city - the hotel absolutely lived up to his (and the world's) expectation of a rude, pretentious and demeaning city. i was ashamed - $700 for a night and we could have received much better service for so much less. concierge, room amenitites (neither tv worked properly and in the 4 days we stayed there we couldn't once watch a movie) and food was too far below par to rate”

  9. “Great stay (deluxe room is a must). The only disappointment was not being able to adjust the room temperature (central heating in the building) and it was really warm at night.”

  10. “Large rooms - I had the deluxe queen. Spacious even for NYC. Cool style and pleasing to the eye.”

  11. “I stayed in the Deluxe Luxury Queen room on the 4th floor, and it was a dream. When we walked into the room, we were greeted with 3 pieces of fresh chocolates on a designed plate (not just pre-wrapped chocolate) along with a handwritten note from the hotel manager, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was luxurious, with 3 shower heads! Shortly after arriving we went to The Bar for an afternoon cappucino pick-me-up, and when we returned to the room, we had turn down service and 2 brownies on our bedside! Housekeeping was always quick to respond to our needs (ice and extra sheets). The free internet on the lobby floor came in handy when we wanted to confirm subway directions to the Brooklyn Museum. The elevators were small, but there were 2 and each fit 3 people with 3 suitcases comfortably, and they were never overcrowded, which was nice for a boutique. Also helpful were the displays on each floor letting you know where the elevator was (sometimes the little things make a big difference).A clean, modern boutique hotel with great service.”

  12. “The hotel is trendy chic, but not overwhelming. The location was fabulous, the rooms were very clean, and the gym was an added treat!”
