I loved the decor, very original. The bright pop of orange, along with the crisp white bedding made the room look larger than it was. The little breakfast table was great, made it feel like home.

Standard NY is great hotel.

Very trendy hotel. We loved the top to bottom windows with view on the Hudson river and lower Manhattan. It was quite an experience to take a bath in the peek a boo shower/bath tub while having such a skyline view! The room was small, but due to the open bathroom it still gave an airy impression.Staff was very friendly (maybe a bit over the top due to the soft opening, they even pushed the elevator button for us..).

My new wife and myself greatly enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel and were even more pleased at the handsome job done with our room. For such a small space, it still felt very warm, hip and semi-futuristic. The bathroom was especially pleasing with it's tub for two, and the black tiles and shower/sink combonation was really cool.

Nice, fun location in the meatpacking district. There's a lot to do within walking distance, especially at night, and the excellent staff is very helpful.Incredible views of the Hudson. Make sure you stay on this side of the hotel as there is a new building going up across the street on the other side, and their bright construction lights never go off. The general layout of the rooms is also very good. Very big for Manhattan, and well thought out - aside from the elevated bathroom floor. I stubbed the bejesus out of my foot on the threshold. The bathroom itself is fantastic, however, with a giant soaking tub and a louvered view out the window onto the Hudson. The public spaces so far are pretty enjoyable and will only get better as more people learn about the hotel and the weather warms up. I think the rooftop bar is set to open this June.

Kudos to Andre et al. The Standard New York met every expectation, even though they are still in 'soft opening' mode. There were views from every room. The design of the public spaces, as well as the rooms, was exceptional. It's by far the best of all of thier properties. The soaking tub was a welcome retreat after a long day in the city. The peek-a-boo shower was a nice twist. This hotel is sexy on many levels.

The location is perfect - NYC's meatpacking district. It's full of bars and restaurants and designer shops. It has total character and is a real slice of NY. It's definitely more of an adult area however and I think it's best for singles or young couples without kids...
