  1. “Service was excellent...the walls between the rooms are absolutely paper thin...we asked to be moved when after listening to a loud cell phone call from next door, the couple in that room next to us decided to consummate their holiday...the front desk staff and bellman immediately searched for rooms that were not adjoining and we were upgraded to a suite which was pretty, well, sweet.”

  2. “Clift Hotel is "tired" - public spaces are too kitsch - guest rooms are clean but poorly decorated. For god's sake, they didn't even renovate the bathrooms; just re-skinned the tub and put in a peeling, cheap sink pedestal painted with da-glo accents. Room was spacious but bathroom was small, cramped - they didn't even replace the original doors. Icky - I wouldn't stay there again nor would I recommend it. And the cost for overnight parking was outrageous.”

  3. “The Clift is the perfect experience of modern San Francisco. You elect the pace, from frantic to intimate to absolutely homely. Our stay was extremely pleasant and fun, except for the night when our room's lock jammed and we had to wait for hours in the lobby for the staff to get it open. However, waiting at the extra-appealing Living Room wasn't that unpleasant. So, overall, we had a great stay.”

  5. “el clift hotel no decepciona,su interiorismo es realmente abrumador,no deja indiferente,su bar y restaurante congregan a lo mas cool de mas de 35 de san francisco, aunque algo acartonado!!!,si alguien quiere ir de compras es el hotel ideal,el trato no es del todo personal pero es correcto, para volver al aeropuerto conviene la limousina que se puede pedir en recepcion.”

  6. “I found the Clift to be a lot of surface-level style with little luxury associated with it. The room and bathroom were small and not particularly comfortable or luxe. I was surprised there was no wireless internet connection in the rooms and simple things like having easy to access outlets around the desk were lacking. I usually am one to appreciate a happening hotel bar scene, however, I found the extremely load music and crowded club scene to be off-putting (and I work in the music industry so am used to lively atomosphere and music) but was hoping for more of a middle ground.”

  7. “The Redwoodroom ist great and the location of the hotel wonderfull for enjoying the city. If you need your own car you have to plan and schedule your needs in advance, but within ten minutes the car was available. All in all I would recommend staying at the Clift to my friends as a very good choice.”

  8. “The Clift in San Francisco is a fine choice for a romantic getaway. It is rather expensive for a night's stay (or can be), however the quality of the rooms (as in how well they been have maintained) is very apparent. Recommended, but only for folks with deep pockets.”

  9. “The Service at the Clift was outstanding. I arrived at the hotel 3 hours before my scheduled check-in time and had no problem checking in at that time. The room itself was clean and comfortable and met my needs, but it did not knock my socks off. The safe in the room was too small for my laptop computer and I have to say it is absurd that they charge for internet access. The restaurant and bar were both excellent, the service was very friendly and attentive and the food was very good. All of the doormen and bellboys were welcoming and helpful at all times from check-in through check-out. B+”
