all good

The hotel and the service were great. The room was too small and felt especially cramped with a king size bed.

I have just been seduced by the CLIFT. I have been at the Grammercy Park Hotel the week before in NYC: no need to say that the Ian Schrager decoration is perfect; however, the service is very poor with good yound looking service but unskilled. The Clift is arounf 250$ while the GPH is around 900$. :) :) no comment

The mirrors in the rooms tended to conduct sound rather than deaden it. We were awoken frequently throughout the latter portion of the nights (3am-5am) we stayed in the hotel from what appeared to be clear conversations coming through the walls of the adjacent rooms. We enjoyed the appeal and the jet setting appearance the hotel provided but we would have liked the option of turning it off when we shut off the lights and doors to our hotel room to rest ourselves from your beautiful and lively city.

OUr room was a bit loud (we could hear the person in the adjoining room on the phone as if he were in the room) and the a/c was a bit weird, but all in all it was a wonderful stay. We loved the decor, and the service was top notch.

I did not like the fact that I was in a non smoking room, and the guest before me was a smoker and that the room was not properly cleaned.
-
The service came with a good dose of attitude that is not always appreciated.
-
the staff sometimes takes the fact that the hotel is "cool" to its limits when dealing with the clients and taking their air "cool".
-
Clift was very nice but they claimed to have cotton sheets which they did not and the bathroom in the loft suite was very small.
-
Nice work out facility, bad lobby coffee, overall a great place.
