  2. “This is the fourth or fifth time I have stayed at Hotel Rex, and I remembered it being much more pleasant in the past. Front Desk service was not helpful - they only helped us with our bags after several asks and made us wait over 30 minutes to get our car on the day of departure despite the fact we were the only customers waiting and the car was parked just up the road. Our room was dark with a view of... a wall. The hotel looks like it is undergoing refurbishment at the moment, but the staff could also do with a makeover. Disappointing - I won't stay again.”

  4. “Public space was uninviting and pretty 'dark' in appearance - deco needs to be updated.Room had a musty smell - had to keep the aircondition on to get rid of the smell, which in turn was noisy.Room was small - could just about find space for the ironing board.Wastn't easy to use my computer - no power socket near the table, which in itself was overcrowded with snack basket, etc.Telephone went dead on me twice whilst I was on a conference call - batteries died.”

  5. “The hotel was under staffed. Almost everytime I went downstairs to ask about something, or just walked by the desk I heard one of staff complaining, one person trying to help 2-3 people while answering the phone. The restaurant was good for breakfast.”

  6. “We've stayed at the Rex each year for the last three and look forward to coming again if the prices don't keep rising so fast (fixed income retiree). We love your lobby and the people, not to mention the location.”

  7. “We stayed at the Hotel Rex because it was inexpensive at the time we booked. However, had we known the experience would be less than great we would have gladly paid more...the hotel rooms are clean, but not at all special. The beds were comfortable. The hotel itself still feels old and dingy and the attempt at making it feel a more updated miss the mark. Overall we were dissappointed.”

  8. “Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Room was cold, walls thin (could hear the toilet flush in the next door room) and the corridor had musty odour. Overall we had a pleasant stay.”

  9. “We really had a very pleasant stay. The Hotel was located where we wanted it to be and served our purpose well. Our room was the smallest we have ever stayed in BUT it was clean and contained all that we wanted at the time. The staff were so very pleasant, helpful and extremely courteous.”

  10. “My only complaint about the hotel is that the prices for things are not always clearly stated. For instance, I could not find a price list for the things in the honor bar and the room services menu does not state that there is a $2.50 delivery charge plus 21% tip.Otherwise I think it was a fabulous hotel!”

  11. “The room was very small and the toilet was so loud to flush! I don't think the rooms around us could sleep through a night time trip to the toilet! I thought the decorations were average. More like a 3 star hotel, not a 4”

  12. “Re the Rex - great location. Nice bar / lounge area with a literary feel. Free wireless and free business centre is a bonus. Free wine hour is fun addition.Rooms and particularly bathrooms are tired and have a dusty feel. I noticed other guests talking about this as well.Wedgewood Hotel in Vancouver which we booked via Tablet was in a different league altogether.Staff were ok but not outstanding. May stay here again but would look at other options first.”
