If you can get a good Internet deal, as we did via Tablet, this can be a great spot for a quick, affordable San Francisco staycation. Nice, albeit small rooms, great views, great location at the top of Nob Hill with easy access to two cable car lines, nice spa.

The Huntington was beautiful, luxurious, romantic, and lovely. We are grateful to the fine staff there for making our San Francisco weekend one to remember and cherish.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Two issues detracted from the stay, causing me to rate "good" rather than "excellent"; There was a large stain in the carpet of our room. It was most unexpected in such a quality establishment. The second is a suggestion for improved customer service. A Bodum/Cafetierre in the room's kitchen facility together with some quality coffee, a kettle, cutlery and crockery would have been appreciated by this jet-lagged insomniac.

I had a great time in SF and that was in large part due to the pleasantness of my hotel. The hotel's location is perfect, the ambiance is "traditional", but not stuffy, the staff (especially the doormen and the hotel's driver) are wonderfully dedicated people and my room was among the newly renovated ones. Amenities are near perfect, except for the lack of slippers and some of the channels on the flat TV had a blurry image (mentioned, but to no avail). The Ipod dock was not working well either. I also had some nuisance as rooms were undergoing renovation work near mine (noise in the morning).

My initial reception was great, friendly greeting upon arriving and the desk clerk was aware and accomodating of my preference for a quiet room. The corner room was very large and comfortable.

Good location, tasty Cable Car cocktails in the bar.
