  1. “JIA Shanghai had terrific rooms in a perfect location, offered a wonderful and filling breakfast, provided wonderful afternoon cake and wine, and just kept stepping up their game at each turn. The gym was well-equipped, washing machines are available for free guest use, the rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable, and the toiletries are superb. Although I speak Chinese, the staff's English was excellent, and they were happy to provide directions, maps, dinner suggestions, and the like. I will definitely return here the next time I am in Shanghai.”

  4. “The hotel room was well furnished and spacious---the smallest room available can fit two to three people just fine. What I liked most about the room, aside from the comfort and the contemporary desdign of the room, was the stereo in the room. You could plug in your MP3 or Ipod and music would blast out in the room and if you adjusted it, the bathroom as well. Also, the sound quality of the music was excellent. CDs and DVDs would be compatible as well. The TV available was a new LG television. The bathroom of JIA Shanghai was, like the room, beutifully designed with one side of the wall adorned with real gold tiles. In addition to all this, the pantry was great as well. It had all the usual things expected at a pantry, as well as an oven---something I find extremely useful, especially for heating up food. Little details in the room was also not missed. For example, the sockets in the hotel were designed in such a way that practically any plug from any country would be able to fit in it. As for the location of the hotel, it was only a few minutes walk away from a famous street full of local food stalls and shops (including an IT shop). And I must not neglect to mention the hotel lobby. The lounge at the hotel lobby is extremely comfortable and well furnished. There is free flow of coke and other drinks, as well as a coffee machine for the guests' use. This is something i find unique to JIA hotel.”

  7. “The kitchenette was a great convenience. The gym was not large but well-appointed, and never crowded. I found breakfast on the second floor to be excellent. Great decor and feel to the place. Well located between downtown and Hongqiao with easy access to both.”

  10. “Everything about the hotel pleased us. From our arrival where we received a helpful and kind welcome. The room was first class with plentiful accessories. The manager was friendly along with all the staff. We loved the well stocked fridge downstairs where we could help ourselves to drinks, the tea with cakes and the evening wine and savoury bites. All hotels should be like this! These extra touches should be standard. We would recommend this hotel and have started to.”

  12. “We found the Jia to be a welcoming haven amongst the hussle and bussle of Shanghai. Our first time to this amazing city, we were impressed by the personlized service and help. Warm, intelligent, English speaking staff were happy to assist at breakfast - which, by the way, was substantial. Also, liked being able to relax at the bar in the evening with a free red or white after a full on day. Beds were huge!! And so comfortable. Needed a GPS just to find my wife! Location was brilliant too - just above the subway on Nanjing Road. Funky design in everything. Preferred to stay haere than one of the big hotels. Concierge staff were excellent, booking us prime at ERA and M on the Bund.”
