  6. “This is my new favorite (city) hotel. The JIA is an oasis in the middle of the hustle and frenetic atmosphere of Shanghai. It is similar in style, comfort and atmosphere to other "chic, hip, boutique" hotels found in most major cities, but like the name ("Home") implies, it has everything you need: From free wireless internet to a full mini-bar and a small kitchenette to black-out curtains. Not to mention the DVD player, massive flat screen with Cable, integrated ceiling speakers w. ipod dock, intelligent mood lighting controls, big bed with down pillows, iron + ironing board (amazed how many "business hotels" neglect this), big fluffy towels on heated racks, rain shower, big bathmat, etc, etc. I was amazed that every detail was thought through perfectly, in my opinion. I also liked the lobby lounge that offers free drinks and snacks several times per day. I think the hotel has a fitness room, but must admit never made it! One small but cool aspect was the room key card which you wave in front of the elevator button and room door to get access. Great experience overall if you're looking for an escape from the city! Oh, and the Italian restaurant (Issimo) on level 2 (by separate entrance) is not to be missed - even if you're not staying at the hotel!”

  9. “The Staff were very courteous and helpful. The Decor is sophisticated and unique without being overstated or too opulent with the rooms being spacious and well laid out.The amenities are all you could ask for and the little extras such as afternoon cake were so welcome. The overall feel of the place is so friendly and it was such a relief to come back to the Jia after a hard days shopping. It was an oasis in the the hurly burly of Shanghai and you could immediately relax and unwind in a wonderfully convivial atmosphere and feel pampered but without all the pomp of one of the larger hotels.”

  11. “Upkeep has been immaculate, and it felt brand new throughout. It has a great restaurant and bar, which also recommends it as a convenient meeting point.Location is ideal for fast access to the Bund or French Concession via a short taxi ride.Overall, the character of the hotel is that of a young, modern China. It is totally in tune with the city around it, and sets itself up as an ideal choice for a relaxing stay.”
