  3. “From the photos on the internet, we had high hopes that the hotel would be sleek, modern and stylish. The reality of URBN Hotel Shanghai far exceeded our expectations. We could have happily spent our entire time in Shanghai in our room or the lounge or the private bar. The food was great and the bartender in the private bar made us delicious customized drinks (and recommended a fabulous authentic local restaurant for dinner). We love the wall of suitcases behind the reception desk. The staff is extremely helpful and everyone is down to earth. Although they've only been open a few months, they seem to have worked out all the usual hiccups that you typically find with new hotels. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to family and friends.”

  4. “Rooms were great (both standard and garden view) even though they and the corridors got super-hot (July) and getting to my first room involved me lugging about my heavy bags up a flight of stairs (no elevator access to certain rooms). Great location.”

  7. “This hotel is a haven in Shanghai: small and comfortable but still centrally located in a real neighbourhood, close to shopping and the subway. The kitchen is excellent and reasonably priced and the wait staff were very courteous, and sensitive. The rooms were large, spacious and very well-designed with a clean aesthetic. I loved the ipod station and free internet service. As a female traveller travelling alone I also appreciated that the rooms could only be accessed via a lift with key access. And I liked the idea of the guests only bar though I didn't end up using it. I would certainly recommend this hotel for both business or leisure travel.”

  11. “While staying in Shanghai, the traveler has many options. I stayed at the Westin and felt it was too corporate as if I were working. Very standard expectations. The URBN hotel was an oasis and the studio was stunning. I've stayed at a lot of nice hotels around the world (albeit on the client's dime or points) but I have to admit this was one the top 5 rooms in my experience.Top Reasons to stay here:- 26-room hotel means service, service, service- Great hotel room with tub in the room- Rain Forest Showerhead- Quaint and Sexy atmosphere”

  12. “Aside from the lack of off street parking, I liked the somewhat offbeat location. It is very centrally located, however it is not on a major tourist or shopping street, so it gives a feeling of privacy and even exclusivity. I appreciated that the hotel is modern and fashionable, but not "overly hip or too cool for it's own good". The staff and young and attractive, but also efficient and capable of doing a good job. The room had ample natural lighting in the daytime (atrium room), and I found it very comfortable.I also liked the public and private bars in the hotel and the staff that worked them.”
