  2. “We loved that each floor and guest room had an entirely individual design. Our room, the futon room was so cozy - it felt like home, a fresh, clean and relaxing bedroom at home. After a long flight from Hawaii, the immaculate bathroom with heated floor, heated toilet and heated floor in the shower felt like heaven. The high-tech toilet with over 10 different buttons was amusing after I figured out which button was "flush." Actually there's two buttons to flush, one for a "small" flush and one for a "big" flush. Really! The buttons have the Japanese character (I recognized it as a Chinese character) for big and small. We sank onto the plush futon beds..wish I had one of those again. No mattress can beat a fluffy, but firm futon. The bath amenities were wonderfully herbal scented appealing to both me and my hubby. The tea blend offered in the rooms are wonderful to wake up to.”

  3. “the atmosphere was relaxed and cool. not exactly what i had thought after reading the hotel description, that is was cutting edge and a happening place, but that suited me perfectly actually. i was there to relax. There were smart Japanese and Europeans always flowing in and out of the lobby, so it did have a sense of smart cool about it. Overall it was a great relaxing place to enjoy the great food and read a book while looking out the large glass lobby windows. i enjoyed the shower too, with its view over the city.”

  4. “The stylish interior was relaxing and the service was excellent. The staff behind the front desk were extremely helpful and organised everything for us. Couldn't have asked for more. The Japanese style room was wonderful. A great place to stay for a wedding anniversary.”

  5. “Great concept and beautifully designed for a great rate. I liked the offer of DVD's and CD's at no charge, great for when you're jet lagged and can't sleep at 4pm.”

  7. “The Claska hotel was a fantastic choice for our stay in Tokyo. Situated in a stylish area full of small boutiques and European style bars and slightly out from the more obvious tourist havens. The area gave you a more relaxed feel to Tokyo, the type of area you might want to live in rather than the flashing neon intensity of Shibuya or Shinjuku. The hotel itself was achingly stylish, everything was presented or designed to look fabulous. From the wooden bar and lobby to the hip girls working in Dogman - the hotels dog grooming salon right down to the coffee cups and spoons. We also liked the roof terrace (amazing place for a party) and its weekly film screenings. Our room was spacious and light with a fantastic ensuite bath and shower, and although the beds were a little hard for our preference we had a great stay there and even extended our time in the Claska by two nights. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating - they even came up to our room with a cake to sing me happy birthday before we went out to celebrate that evening. Taka (one of the English-speaking managers there) in particular helped us get the most out of our stay by giving us tips on where to go and how to get there. We also loved having the Claska ipod and speakers in our room so we could either chill in the room after a hard days shopping or crank up the tunes whilst we were getting ready for a night on the tiles. Before we left we made sure we checked out the hotel's art gallery and shop - I even bought my Dad the Claska-styled Yukata we had worn in the rooms as a present.”

  8. “This hotel feels as if every object in it has been given painstaking thought in order to achieve a stylish whole. Our traditional Japanese room was exquisite (at least unitl we dumped our big ugly suitcases in it!). The staff could not have been more helpful. The restaurants in the area do not really have much English so they would call and reserve and even order for us!”

  9. “Everything about Claska is stunning. From the retro classic architecture to DogMan next to the lobby bar, it was precisely the kind of Tokyo experience we were after. We had read reviews suggesting it was too far out of the way and difficult for taxi drivers to find. We had no such experience. The Narita Express took us to within a 15 minute cab ride, and all drivers we used knew the hotel.Besides, being out of the way was, for us, kind of the point. You could not find more helpful staff and if we had a regret it was that we never got a chance to use the bikes.”

  10. “The room and the hotel has style. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I was unfortunately caought a flu while travelling in Japan. The staff offered me hot ginger tea to relieve me of the pain without asking. It's a very nice gesture when travelling in foreign country, and effectively reduce my suffering a little.”

  12. “It goes without saying that the hotel is beautifully designed. But what makes Claska unique is the staff: every time I've stayed with them they've made me so welcome and accommodated even tricky, odd requests. Highly recommended.”
