This was a luxury stay to celebrate my daughter's birthday and we were booked in to your best rooms. We booked the Spa and all had treatments too. We mentioned the birthday to the front of the House Manageress and she arranged a special Dessert plate at dinner. Fruit and a card were placed in her room and we were spoilt with Chocolates with our afterdinner drinks in your picturesque Bar. All the staff seem to wishing her Happy birthday and she had a lovely day. Thank you for ending a memorable holiday so well.

For a person who travels 40 weeks in a year, it is difficult to impress me. I have seen the best and chicest places in the world. But the true measure of a good experience is always the people. In Japan, courtesy and elegance is natural, but at the Mandarin Oriental, it was also an art form. If you don't usually spend this kind of money on hotels, but decide one day to have that ONE experience somewhere special, this is definitely the place to do it. Use the services, ask the concierge to find you a restaurant, ask for help to understand the metro system... then you will know what I mean

The spa experience, specifically the harmony massage was incredible. Room 3604 was perfect, the best view of Mount Fuji and the city with sunset... perfect! The service was perfect with the recomendations for local resturants right on. The small tempura place was the best... outstanding.

Quite simply the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I have travelled extensively around the world. The service was first class and the staff were extrenely attentive. The rooms were exquisite and furnished to a very high standard with everything you could wish for. We had a free upgrade with a view over to Mt Fuji which was stunning. I could not fault this hotel in any way and only wish we could have spent more time there.

The spa facilities were wonderful (I recommend using the facilities in the morning before 9am when they are complimentary - I thank the tablet hotel review for filling me on on that one!).Nicely appointed rooms with beautiful and generous bathrooms.
