There were eight of us, including two babies and two elderly pensioners, and we were stuck for a place to go for dinner. At 20:00 I found this place in my tour guide book, it was closeby so I called them on the off chance they weren't fully booked. They were... but they said they could put us in the basement. We were desperate (tired babies and pensioners) so I said yes. I was thinking, dingy basement with damp and bad service all night. NOPE. The most beautiful private wine cellar was all set up for us with what seemed like our own private waiter. All drinks, courses and even requested warmed milk (for the babies) arrived on time. The waiting staff and manager were lovely and didn't seem stressed even though every table was taken upstairs and in their front courtyard. But the food....the food....was crazy good. Fois gras toasties, salmon tartar with white asparagus, homemade pasta, lamb cooked to perfection (even when five of us ordered it), lovely recommendation of wine (that didn't break the bank) and indulgent desserts. We actually had to go back on our last night just to experience it all again, this time just four of us in the courtyard where a local singer/guitarist made our evening even more special. These people know what they're doing...go there.
