  1. “When in London, one (well, I) absolutely must have afternoon tea. The Langham Hotel is famous for being the first to serve afternoon tea in 1865. Tea is served in the hotel’s Palm Court, a high-ceilinged, elegant room, with bejeweled iron gates in the arches on either side of the entrance. A pianist entertains the high tea crowd with old standards, as an array of delicate tea sandwiches and unique sweets are served. Champagne is served along with tea at the 7:00 High Tea.“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.”Henry James (1843-1916) American expatriate writer”
