Home of the 'pastel de nata,' Pastéis de Belém has become mecca for pastry lovers — and anyone with a sweet tooth, for that matter. If there's too much action in the cafe and at the counter, take your coffee and cake to-go and head for the park across the street.
I was born in Lisbon and moved to the US at a very young age, but every summer, when I go back, I can never skip over a warm pastel de nata with cinnamon. It's worth the trip! Visit the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos while you're there. It is an amazing monastery right across the way.
