Widely regarded as London’s oldest restaurant, Rules still thrives in the heart of Covent Garden, thankfully not succumbing to the tourist trap. The dining room is dark and cosy, with a gentlemen’s club feel to it, but the food is the real attraction, with its focus on seasonal ingredients, with game being a notable highlight.

Classique, suranné, feelgood.

An old school dining experience, which feels authentic and elegant in every respect. The room is wonderful and cozy, the food was beautifully prepared and the formal service made us feel pampered. The upstairs bar is the perfect place for a predinner drink or night cap. The whole experience makes you feel as if you are living within a Merchant Ivory production.
