A lot of lovely locally produced food, fresh oysters, chocolate, wine, beer etc. Great place for foodies and non foodies!

Wonderful open-air market with the best of Europe. Makes you wish you had a rented flat with a kitchen so you could cook all the amazing food you find at this market. An excellent Saturday am activity, esp if you've just gotten off the plane and need the stimulation to stay awake!

If you're going to the Borough Market, don't bother making any breakfast or lunch plans. Why? Because you'll be eating your way through the entire market, and by the time you leave you'll be wondering whether you'll ever need to eat again. Food from all corners of the globe is housed in (and around) a gorgeous old Victorian warehouse-style building - when you're not busy sampling various gourmet tidbits, you'll definitely be pulling out your camera and snapping away. The market is only held on Saturdays, and you'll want to get there early to avoid the massive crowd - trust me, it's worth dragging yourself out of that plush hotel bed.

This market’s roots go as far back to the 11th century, when traders would hawk their loads under the protection of the London Bridge. Today it’s a hub for the capital’s gourmet set. During lunch hours, crowds of hungry professionals gather for specialty meat pies and savory kebabs, while shoppers stock up on mushroom pâté and goat’s milk ice cream.Bring home: A couple of Flaxjacks® from Flax Farm — a delicious spin on the traditional granola bar, and the perfect in-flight snack.

Fabulous market for foodies. Stuff from all over Europe. Even with the pound high against the dollar, some bargains can be found. Great free samples.

From footballers to royalty, oligarchs to old soldiers, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea offers people watching on a truly different level. The residential architecture surrounding the main drags is also magnificent.
