Located 1,134 feet above sea level on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood, this observatory has unique architecture and a fantastic live planetarium. One of LA's most visited sites, and for good reason.
Great scientific displays and shows, quite popluar breathtaking views of LA/Hollywood.
if you go at night, which is when you should go, you are on top of la. the building is beautiful architecturally inside and out. there are telescopes all over the place and a "live" planetarium show. admission is free, griffith park is like central park on a hill, and you are in a nature environment--which you can't believe is in the city.
Great way to see Los Angeles from an awesome view. Be there at sunset to watch the city lights appear.
