Prisoners were hanged, beheaded, or burned at the stake in this square a long time ago but today it is the heart of the French Quarter. This beautiful public park sits under the shadow of the famous St. Louis Cathedral. Here you will find street musicians, artists, tarot card readers, and horse drawn carriage rides. Stroll right across the street and have a delicious beignet at world famous Café du monde.
